Health and Fitness

For the past year I’ve really been trying to get into the whole “fitness” world.  Last spring, I kicked-ass; I was working out at least 5 times a week and by summer I was pretty excited to be wearing short-shorts for the first time and not feel like a stuffed sausage.  Well, summer came and went and too many Guiness’ later (I can’t resist), this bikini-babe became a stranger to the gym.

I am happier when I’m healthy. But my cravings for pasta and cheese never subside.  This year, I’m beginning to find my balance; the workout and nutrition plan that works best for me.  I began to meal-prep and cut out all the junk I poison my body with. I never deprive myself but I work hard to make my red-mango worth it.

I broke up with Guiness (for the time being) and made up with the gym. I’m no where near where I want to be but am ready to get where I’m going.  I devote 3 hours a week to yoga- which has been such an amazing experience (Go do it!) and workout 6 times a week.  I’ve fallen in love with lifting weights and strive for a toned body instead of being “skinny.”  I’m a work in progress but I’m starting to see some light.  GET MOVING, DOLLS! Life is too short to waste it watching bad reality TV(seriously- besides Orange Is The New Black, why even bother?) It’s never too late to have a fresh start; I promise it’s worth it.  Go on a run, kick-box, lift weights- do all three! You’ll be amazed the piece of mind working out can give you.

I am no longer someone attached to my phone, waiting for a text that most likely will never come.  I’m active and happy. Today’s the day. chop chop! 🙂
